Really nice!!
I think the first one also has something of Laura San Giacomo
(Actress in the movie "Sex, Lies and Videotape")

But maybe I'm wrong!!

Waoh !
Great as always.
The first, realistic is really cool, but I like a lot the second one. Makes me think of some french caricaturists as Solo or Gibo.
It's so difficult to make such drawings !
I should post mine on the drawingboard.

Azzamckazza- If it wasn't for the copyright implications, I would.

Big Sam- Thanks! If you want to draw me, you can participate in the ongoing Caricaturists' Caricature jam over at The Drawing Board. It's free to sign up, after that you can find my ugly mug on page 55 of the thread.

Calice- I can't see Laura but I can definitely see Vanessa Hudgens (the brunette from High School Musical) in the first one.

Michael Dooney- The first started off as a black and white sketch. The linework was then colourised and put on a multiply layer above a different flat colour. I then added some highlights to the flat colour layer, flattened the pic then used the smudge tool to smooth some of the rough linework.

If you change the date of the post, then you can re-post!

Put's it at the top just like a new post, go out again in the RSS feed, and keeps it in place for search engines.

the drawings are great, I especially like the the 2nd, but I don't know Bjork so no comment on likeness.

zieglarf- How do you change the date of the post? I can't seem to find that option. Mind you, I'm still using the old version of blogger so that could be the reason.

J and zieglarf- Thanks for the comments.

When you're on the screen to edit a post, look down by the bottom, click on 'Post Options' (right above the publish button).

I believe it's there on the old style as well. An old post will be re-posted like a new post.

Put a future date in a brand new post, and it will schedule it for that date and time. But I'm not sure if this feature works on the old style though.

zieglarf- The option seems to be available on the old version as well. Not sure if I'll take advantage of it, but I appreciate the info.

these are great, I especially love the first one, loose yet controled brushwork - the hair and eyes really make the piece. Also like how simple the second one is, but you can still tell that its her - very nice!

Buddy, what the hell was your problem on John K.'s blog ? If you read the ENTIRE post he said life drawing is only useful when you apply to your cartooning and not everyone does it. You are really talented guy and it's a shame you are an immature douche bag.

5:03 PM
Blogger Ricardo Cantoral said...

BTW, cook Bjork charicatures.

5:04 PM
Blogger Chris Wahl said...

Rick- I've really got no idea what you're talking about mate. I rarely visit John K's blog and have never commented on it.

The comment you're referring to was made by someone called Anthony (my name's Chris btw) and in his comment was a link to my Bjork work. This doesn't mean I wrote the comment.

Please get your facts straight before you go blowing your top.

...and I'm glad you like my caricatures.

8:52 PM
Blogger Ricardo Cantoral said...

Sorry about that. Please accept my apologies. I couldn't tell since this was the only profile, I hope you understand.

1:21 AM
Blogger Chris Wahl said...

No problem, Rick.

Thanks for the apology.

Blogger Zoran Taylor said...

Actually, I think it's more like "Life drawing is only useful when you apply it to your cartoons IF YOU'RE A CARTOONIST WHO ISN'T INTERESTED IN LIFE DRAWING AS A STAND-ALONE SKILL". The fact that John didn't articulate that last part is precisely what got Anthony so pissed off. But that's his problem, because John IS a cartoonist. Anthony just hates his guts for not having the same tastes that he does and chooses to be an asshole about it.

These are cool, by the way.
